Fukuoka Smart East is a project to create a model city that we can be proud of in the future, by creating comfortable, high-quality lifestyles and urban spaces. This will be done through the introduction of cutting-edge innovations in order to develop sustainably, while solving various social issues in urban development, such as the declining birthrate and aging population. To make this initiative known to as many people as possible, we have supported a number of demonstrative experiments since 2018. This time, we will hold a hands-on event to showcase the "subtitle transparency display" and "smart glasses," which are communication aids being developed by Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. (CEOs: Yoichi Ochiai and Taiichiro Murakami). Anyone can try it out, so please come if you are interested!
Event Outline
On the first floor of Fukuoka City Hall, we will hold a hands-on event to showcase the "subtitle transparent display" that can project the conversation on the display and can be used in multiple languages, and the "smart glasses" that can distinguish between different speakers and display the conversation on the lens even when multiple people are speaking. Through this hands-on experience, we aim to determine the usefulness and need for these devices as tools to support the communication of people with hearing difficulties and people from overseas who might not understand the local language.

- The technology used in the hands-on showcase includes confidential information, and participants are required to sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. before participating.

The transparent subtitle display will be installed at the Universal Cafe on the first floor of Fukuoka City Hall from February 27 (Sun.) to March 4 (Fri.), and you can see it during business hours.
Weekdays: 10:00 - 17:00, Weekends: 10:00 - 14:00
